SkiGirl,
When we were in Belfast we stopped for a meal upstairs at Shenanagans. Do you know the spot? Is it still just as good? Mike  |

AJ,
You are absolutely right! "If people just had consideration for others laws like the one you mention wouldnt have to be made." Respect and consideration for others and their property would make for a much better world .... along with more consistantly cold winters and great snowfalls :!:  SkiGirl, Thanks for your suggestions. The Marble Arch caves sound interesting. We also took in "A Chorus Line" which was playing at the Old Opera House in Belfast (just down the street from the Europa Hotel). We were there in 1997 so I expect a few things have changed since then. Mike  |

SkiGirl, What part of NI is home? My wife & I visited Bangor, Belfast and the Antrim Coast areas with some Canadian friends who come from Bangor. Several highlights of the area -- The Ulster Folk Museum, Grey Abbey, Giant's Causeway, Bushmills Distillary, Daft Eddy's, Portaferry, Carrickfergus, ..... Just too many to list. But what really stood out was the scenery of the Antrim Coast - lush rolling hills. Too bad they aren't snow covered at some point :!:  Mike  |

AJ,
You'll love this.... Recently a law in Nova Scotia came into effect which makes smoking in your car (if anyone under 18 years of age is present) illegal. Now, I've never smoked in my life and throughly dislike the smell but I disagree with that law. There are too many laws out there. Another town here wants to ban smoking on their sidewalks and parks. Taking it too far... In a ski related manner ... smoking is banned on the chairlift where I ski mostly ... but you see people smoking anyway. If no wind, your chair passes through the same smoke! Mike |

quizz :?: :?: :?: :!:
Did I see correctly   :!: Another Pavel Quizz ... to puzzle us, ... to maintain an interest in the off season,.... to broaden our thought processes,.... :D In Canada an electronic chain store uses the phrase near the Christmas season ..." Ohhh, just can't wait..." That phrase applies here as well --- to the anticipation of the next Great Pavel Quizz :) :-) Mike  |

Pavel,
It does indeed sound like the place to be. It almost sounds like Martock; but the road into the parking lot isn't quite as bad as you describe here. But the parking lot can be pretty bad at times. One thing really stands out in your secret location which is similar to Martock is the friendliness of the lift attendants and other staff. It enhances the "customers'" overall experience when you feel welcomed. Martock does this! The owner is always seen out with the snow making team in the worst weather conditions. The "mom & pop" hills are sometimes the best. Now you will have to give us a hint to the location of this pearl you found. Maybe start with rough lat. & long. co-ordinates  You can't leave us all hanging like this  Mike  |

Pavel,
Not a moment of weakness but perhaps rather a moment of great appreciation  Glad to hear the knees are working so well :!: Mike  |

Sailing is the best way to spend the summer months. Instead of harnessing garvity for excitement, you are harnessing the wind. Instead or reading the slopes for your path, you are reading the water to see where the wind is. "Fun" doesn't start to describe the feelings of sailing. :!:
You'll have a great time Chris, - right Keith? Mike  |
