Right ENOUGH !!! Stop right now.
Some j2skiers have a sensitive disposition you know.

1989 was a disaster in France - great start, wonderful xmas/new year snow and then ........
Next significant snowfall December.
There was nothing but a sprinkling right through Feb. and March.
Surely Admin would have seen through that by now

Perhaps the plot thickens .....
I have a theory about the strong pro-Niederau presence on j2ski .....

Yes, I got lots of odd looks when I popped into the huts for a wee. I liked it. I am different

ermmmmmmm ?????
Are you sure it was the bobble that caused the looks and not the other part??

I have a lovely pair of Rossy Bandits for sale...Or so Tim keeps telling me.

Just confiscate a few relevent items before he plans to go skiing - that'll shut him up.

I'm not going to Niederau
Mind you until I joined this forum I don't think I knew it existed and now feel I know the place intimately - the runs, the buses, the drinking holes even the local firewater to avoid.

If only the locals spoke French ......

In my view if I persuade someone to follow me skiing I am responible - whether this is taking a novice down a red run or hiking into the back woods ....
I think resorts are right to emphasise both the dangers and responsibility of skiing off-piste. The consequences of novice skiers going somewhere innapropriate are huge. Death to themselves, companions, people below them in "safe" areas and the dangers the rescuers put themselves in.
I have skied loads of wonderful places away from lifts and runs - but always with someone I have trusted. I wouldn't even go back and follow the same routes on my own.
Respect the mountains!
Even with all the concrete, metal, cables, vehicles, restaurants and people they are still a wild and potentially dangerous place to be.
