Not actually looked into this, but how about doing the Poole to Cherbourg crossing as a foot passenger, then get a train to one of the big resorts. I would have thought getting to somewhere like Moutiers or Bourg St Maurice would be easy enough from Cherbourg.

I notice that none of them seem to have any transceivers, probes or shovels either. Just goes to show, no matter how well you think you know the mountain, you should always be prepared!

Hi Ren,
I also use the cable type, but have often thought there was a gap in the market. Ideally the lock needs to be solid and robust, plus big enough and flexible to allow you to put it round something else for security. However, that is likely to end up being a pain to carry around and hence off-putting for most people. Then the flash goes off in your brain, why does nobody have a security system already attached to the skis or bindings? Always with you, and no issues with having to carry it about in your pocket. Just a thought. |

Can confirm that the English contingent is still in bed, and will be going back to bed once more before departing
Hope all those currently travelling don't knacker themselves too much for the skiing  And like OA says, thanks everyone for the good wishes. See you on the other side everyone :D |
