I dont know if many of you have ever been to the mountains in the summer but I am currently back in Bormio for a couple of weeks-my first summer in the mountains and although I never thought Id say this it is possibly more beautiful than the winter!
Such stunning colours, views, the sun and loads to do-was downhill biking in Livigno yesterday and going to the thermal springs later today!
Would recommend it (not necessarily Bormio) to anyone!

All in all, if you are not constrained by airline baggage requirements, I would choose some ex-demo powder skis in addition to some ex-demo all-mountain/carving skis. It is probably a better deal than getting some new 'all-mountain' skis.

I fully agree here-there is NO ski that will do both and if youre going somewhere that will possibly have a dump of snow take some fatter skis otherwise just take 2 if you can!!! I have as my standard 2 pairs of skis now a pair of Atomic GS 186cm for raging about the pistes and my MSP 187cm for going off pitse but if theres been any fresh snow (even a few cm) the MSPs are out of this world good on or off piste!
if you dont get anything in the sale in june at the end of july/begining of august they will be putting ALL of the unsold stock in the glasgow sale-they stick a huge marquee outside the Xscape at braehead and stuff is super cheap-got a north face fleece 2 years ago for about 70% off

of course youd have to come to glasgow which would be hard for some.....
