Pavel says he won't offer me a hint !!! So where is my challenge now ? The real challenge is in trying to pry a hint from him. :-)
My 10 replies are all the same : # 1 - # 10: We must plan for our future needs - the things we need for the next season, the things and events like everyone else has already listed. (I have learned how important this is from a Pavel Quiz of about 2 or 3 years ago.) However I think I should disqualify myself from this "contest" as I am the proud recipiant of the Spyder polar fleece jacket from the "Great Pavel's Wall Quiz". As a matter of fact I'm wearing this jacket as I type this note. It is a really nice warm jacket. :!: But when the trip to Chile comes up for "grabs" ... I'm in that quiz for sure. Mike  |

It is really enjoyable to watch this clip. Even has a few suprises in it. Maybe the next best thing to escalator skiing is the skiing at the end of the clip to almost onto the highway  Imagine - why would anyone run a highway through a ski run :?:
Worthy of several watches :!: Mike |

Wow, what a great tale.
Pavel, after the superficial skiers read what could lie ahead, they will turn into the ones struggling to reach the diamonds covering those rolling slopes. I was looking at some of these diamonds on the MSA web cameras lately. It is amazing how many still exist. :!: But the picture I have of you travelling in the convertible this time of year with skis in the passenger seat displays the Rossignol brand... I'll have to alter that image :D. However not too unlike Narnia, this image is "frozen" in time on a locked hard drive. And as I see the blue "beast" hugging a curve in the road beside the lake with the Olympic site in the background, I can hear the musical sounds of KD Lang ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_NpxTWbovE ) drifting from your car. And yes,in my picture too, the smells of new growth as spring comes forth fill the air. What a lovely sunny spring day for a ski trip slightly south. Possibly this tune enhances the trips down the hill on the skis too. Mike  |

Ice skating is my once a week (at least) all year round "exercise". Not a hockey game, but just going around in circles with the lucky retired people for a couple of hours.
Roller blading is supposed to be a good cross training exercise for skiing (or so I've read) but the areas suited to this are usually too hilly or the ground is too rough. Must give it a more dedicated try this summer. I really don't want to break anything in order to get in better shape for the winter. Mike  |

Tony,
If it's not for you, then - it's not for you! I guess the rolling of the sea isn't beckoning to "thee" :D Ahhh - that fresh salty air  I sense some "serious" kidding going on here . But for a bathtub on water look at the far end of Canada for this: http://www.canadacool.com/COOLFACTS/BRITISH%20COLUMBIA/NanaimoBathTubRace.html  Some people will do anything to test their life insurance policy  Thencher, I know we have some terrible television here (Canada)but this program you brought to attention is just plain strange and it may explain a lot - if you say so... (real exercise on the ears!); and we do have some strange stuff here too. However - this one may be worth a look - at least through the "net" http://www.skitelevision.com/default.aspx :-) Mike  |

Salski,
Of course :!: The weather and watching it - the most common element to any outdoor sport :!: How did I miss that one.  It sure looked like SCUBA attire to me too  :!: Keith, Just look how unique Tony would be in Peterborough when he told his friends he was going sailing for the weekend. :!: There were once people visiting NS from Alberta (inland Canada) and we had the famed "Bluenose" lined up for a harbour tour. It lurched at the wharf in a swell and they refused to take the "3 hour tour". We must respect others' concerns.. Mike  |
