Dang, that's another use for Duct Tape I had not considered :shock:
I am totally amazed that nobody got this, but if you think about it, Vanessa Mae is a professional fiddler :)

OK, to answer the question seriously, for me a good ski sock needs to do the following. Be comfortable, support my calf, wick away moisture, be warm, have no seems that can annoy you or cause issues, be fairly thin and finally have cushioning in just the right places, so shin area, heel and rear of ankle and the top of toes.

That is what makes a good sock for me.

Best ski socks Icy, are those impregnated with an odour eating compound :)
