Andy is right, its a great place. Plenty of runs for all types of skiier and just enough for a full week.
I reckon I am gonna go back this season for 4th time.
Meribel Village is lovely. I stayed there for a week about 5 years ago and loved it.
Its small and as far as I remember it has one pub, bread shop and a pizza place but the access to the slopes is great and the free ski bus is pretty good too.
The location in the 3 valleys is handy too and there is a chair lift up to another large chair lift which brings you high up.
Enjoy.
Jesus....i'm dying.

Buy a bike and do a couple of miles a few days a week.
Great for leg and core strength and far easier on the joints than running.
Downloading an app will not get you fit. -)
I had the same op in December 2008 and did not ski untill Dec 2009.
Like the previous posters said do take it easy on the recovery. Everyone will heal at a different speed so listen to your own body.
I can ski just as well as I could before the injury and operation and suffer no pain in my knee at all. Mind you I do get slight pain in my hamstring where the graft was taken from.
I am a mountbiker so have strong leg muscles and feel that this was a help in my recovery.
Get well soon.
Thanks again for all the information but I have decided to book a transfer instead.
Thanks for all the good advice. I think I will pay the extra for a private transfer as I am only there for a few days and the thought of missing skiing time waiting for a car is not good.
I know this has been asked many times before but I cant remember the answer!
I am going to meribel in three weeks for 4 days and as there is only 2 or possibly 3 of us going so car hire is far cheaper than a transfer. What side is easier to drive from can anyone tell me?
Thanks.
