I stayed in Madonna this year which links into Folgarida and Marilleva. Thoroughly enjoyed it--large extensive intermediate area with loads of cruising blue and red runs. I would certainly go again.
Took a 20 minute taxi ride to Pinzolo which is a really nice nearby small resort, however this season it is now linked to Madonna by a new gondola which is another plus.
The snow record has sometimes not been so good but this year it was great--also there are now good snow making facilities.

The only small downsides are if you are an advanced intermediate there are not many challenging runs and if you are into nightlife its generally quiet.

I am looking to book a trip to Galtur in February. Never been before. Any comments or tips from people who have been there recently would be appreciated. (expect to go to Ischgl most days. Are the buses usually busy?)

Update. Had a terrific week in Madonna. For Intermediates lots of easier blues & reds with a few not so scary blacks. There had been no snow for a few weeks but low temperatures kept piste in great condition.
For an more upmarket resort food prices on the mountain very reasonable provided you avoid the more obviously expensive places. Lift Pass not cheap though. Good Terrain park for boarders.
Town itself mostly upmarket shops only.
Had a bus trip to nearby small resort of Pinzolo. This is a really nice little place with empty well groomed piste. A new gondola to link it with Madonna will be in place for next season.
Not a place to go if you want the nightlife.
That was not a concern for me soI would defintely go back.

Just booked a week skiing at Madonna in January. Any comments or advice from someone who has been there recently would be appreciated. I am a intermediate skier.
