Self & Wife are both experienced/decent Intermediate skiers but not experts. Comfortable on Reds and some Blacks. Have skied USA in Vail, Breckenridge and Aspen/Snowmass. We are looking to return to North America this Winter and fancy Jackson. But we have some doubts due to its reputation as a particularly "Expert" resort. However have read some reports recently saying plenty for Intermediates too.
We would appreciate advice & feedback from anyone who has skied there in recent years regarding its suitabilty for Intermediates, particularly would there be enough to keep us occupied on say a 10 day trip? Thanks |

I saw the Telegraph article as well guys - it was very good and in particular highlights the very low cost of everything. Just for example on the mountain we found Cappuccino for one Euro and a litre of red wine for 8 Euro(the wine shared between 4 of us!!). We went with Crystal and flew into Turin, transfer time approx 90 mins.
We are good Intermediate skiers, personally we are not very demanding about having a large extensive area so found plenty to keep us occupied across the 3 linked resorts Champoluc, Gressoney and Alagna. Champlouc and Alagna are 17km apart so not small scale but obviously does not compare in size to say the Three Valleys. |

Nice Pics Tony. Self & wife were there week before your party and can second all you say.
Glad you all had a fantastic time. Wonder how long Champoluc will remain an undiscovered gem? Await the full report with interest. |

Self & wife did it in approx 3 hours & we are just intermediates. It is true some people do regard it as a bit of a slog, however I would think its worth it just for the stunning views of the limestone cliffs along the way. Clockwork route is slightly quicker with some more interesting slopes but is busier. If you go anticlockwise there is a series of tedious lifts from Corvara.
If its good weather and you pick a quiet time (start early) I reckon it's well worth doing but of course it's a personal call. Have a good time, when the snow is good the Dolomites is a fantastic place to visit. |

Spent a great week in Champoluc. First time in the skied in the Aosta Area. This is a terrific place to ski. Friendly people, vast area, no lift queues, Lots of good cruising reds if that that is your thing.
Conditions up the mountain were good. Returning home tomorrow. It has just started the predicted snow for the next day or so. Later in the week prediction is for some more sunny days so a great set up for all you guys coming in. Hope you can all get away on time given the transport problems at home. Have a wonderful time. Wife and I will certainly be returning to Champoluc in the future. |

Excellent Report. Very timely personally as self & wife after some hesitation plumped for Champoluc over a few other possibilities for our January trip. Thanks.
