Newbiggin Hall/Westerhope (near the airport). Did you mingle with the locals/stick to the civilised areas of town?!!!

I saw what the rest of the country would call 'chavs' when I was skiing, but I dont think I would see a true charva anywhere other than Ibiza/the toon!!!

The west end of Newcastle, where the true charv originates!!!!

One thing I love about skiing......that thankfully I dont think charvs will ever discover it, and given what the people round here have been wearing in the snow showers we have had the past couple of days its a good job.....(vest tops and hotpants or shirtless for the lads)! I bet you miss those sights!!!

Anyhow, after falling off the t-bar twice and being offered a flask of Navy Rum at the top, I won the race :D The fact that I did the grand total of zero turns top to bottom probabaly helped

tino....you seem to have acquired the Geordie daftness (and alcohol induced practices) when you lived here that would make you absolutely hilarious to watch. I dread to think (but would love to see) what a bunch of Geordies would do when alcohol was mixed with a proximity to a dangerous sport!!

I guess popularity breeds webcam melt down ...

We will be trying to restore normal service asap

Ah....the price of being so popular!!! I have to admit, I was one of the ones on the webcam all day yesterday waiting for it to start snowing , and then I had to go do some work and missed it when it did....

I'm glad the webcam is back on, I can get my daily fix now!!! Thanks Jan!!!!

fft100 wrote: Is it fair for other users when you have lines of beginners (first week !) in lines semi snow-ploughing accross the slope ? one or two, ok, but a whole first week ski class ?

As one of those complete beginners who was taken onto reds in the first week I think thats a bit harsh! Everyone was a beginner at some stage so it'd nice if we were cut some slack for trying to learn, plus we generally just do what we are being told by the instructor, we aren't trying to be in the way...honest!!!!

Anyway, surely its better to have lines of beginners that you can see, rather than a lone beginner that you can't, that ends up crashing into you...They might not hold you up as much as the lines of beginners, but I'd imagine they are more dangerous than those in a class!!!!

I know I'm speaking from a pretty biased point of view though so I guess in a few years I'd be more qualified to comment!!
