It’s a tragic accident but hopefully a wake up call to people to ski/board with control and within their ability. There was an accident in Valais recently between and English and I think Dutch skier where one of them died. The mountain is a dangerous place and should be treated with caution and respect at all times. People on holiday are in their own little bubble, they relax and forget everything that’s going on around them and seem more than happy for themselves and their children to ski around forgetting the basic rules of the piste with no regard for anyone else around them. Everyone should be able to enjoy the mountain without fear of being injured or worse by others, accidents will always happen but there are lots of thing we can do the avoid it.

Ooohhh yes !!
Being polite and conscious of people around you does not cost anything!!, it would make resorts a much nicer place to be. One on my favourites is people pushing their kids through the que at the lifts, then glaring at you when they push past YOU to get to them. We are lucky as where we are does no too busy so this does not happen too often. Do these people behave like this in every other aspect of their lives? Oh one more thing, not being able to say thank you or hello in the local language and speaking to staff very loudly when they are not understood. That's my rant over with. Have a good hols and ignore the muppets. Helen |

Wow, so much snow, we have the same here in Thyon. Looks like you guys know what you are doing, some people here have been caught out by not being properly pre paired, no chains etc. This is the most snow I have seen in three years and I think there is more to come!!!
Have fun(' )'); |

Good restaruants, La Cambuse, Chottes in the next valley which is great for lunch, try the cheese board. Chalet Mayen by the Trabanta lift is also good. There are lots of great restaurants in the area serving traditional Swiss mountain food are reasonable prices. The restaurant Les Masses is good too. • Ski/Equipment Hire - . http://www.theytazsports.ch/site/modules.php?name=Pages&op=viewpage&id=1 • Ski passes – You can pre order you ski pass to either be sent to you address or pick up at the nearest pass offic, website is https://www.esecure.ch/Thyon/. Hi
I only decided to get contacts to go skiing and now never wear my glasses. They are so much easier than glasses, it's just another to have to adjust when you are out. Saying that our local ski shop had a really good range of goggles so I am sure most would, I am not sure how you would stop glasses steaming up which may be an issue. I always take spare contacts out with my just in case I knock them out or rub my eyes as you don't want to be in the middle of no where squinting with one eye. Just my thoughts. Have a great hols Helen |
