We are very excited to have this new lift, it will open up the access from Les Masses located just below the resort of Les Collons/Thyon on the 4 Vallées. There will also be between 150-200 car parking spaces.

This will make one of the best access points directly into the 4 Vallées ski system. Also only 7 mins drive from my house :) :) :)

Ski Boot Warmers!!

Hi

Loads of good advice, I work in a ski shop I would say the best thing to do is keep your boots inside in the warm, maybe not the porch/hallway if not the warmest place in the chalet.

We had a wall mounted boot warmer which was used by our chalet guests but never found we need to use it ourselves.

Good socks - Falke or Icebreaker

Best wishes & good skiing

Hi

You will find normal walking boots will have normally have grip for mud/rocks, the grip for snow is different.

You may need to check what they are made for.

Ski Touring Equipment

Hi

Sorry late reply, I work in a ski hire shop and most of the people who work there ski tour loads, equipment is key all good shops should be able to kit you out and advise you.

I have done it a few times and equipment and weight is really important, my husband ski tours on a split snowboard as did loads of research before buying one, again weight and equipment is key as with alpine skiing if you are not comfortable it's a real handicap.

I hope it's some help and you enjoy it as much as I have, i am looking forward to this season as intend to do much touring than normal skiing but if you are going off piste do take a guide.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Best wishes

Which Resort

Hi

I agree with Andy, 4 Valleys would be ideal, there are wide sunny open sunny slopes in Les Collons ideal for your friends but also has skiing for all levels with over 400km of piste and 100 lifts.
If you are missing the mountains, there also lots to do in Summer. Valais has over 300 days of sunshine a year, there are many top golf courses, summer skiing, hiking, biking and much more here are a few useful websites:

Mountain Biking http://www.valais-decouverte.ch/
Grand Raid http://www.grand-raid-cristalp.ch/en/home (mad bike race my husband does this every year!!!)
http://www.valais.ch/fr/index.cfm

There are just a few things there is so much more.

I am in Thyon and can confirm conditions here are still good, there is talk of people from the more south facing resorts coming to ski here but that is just talk at the moment ;)

You could try websites

Chaletfinder
Chaletsdirect
Ownersdirect

I have run a catered chalet in Les Collons for the last 4 years, we are no longer running it but can recommend chalets in this area if you are interested. PM me

Best wishes
