Glad to hear you're OK. :D
I'd love to learn to ski off piste, but the thought of getting caught in an avalanche terrifies me, especially when you hear that those who know what they are doing and know the mountain well still get caught out... |

Not too bad really (and that is coming from someone who hates exercise if it's not something I particularly enjoy!) I tried to do about 30 minutes a day for about 2 months before I went away - made myself get up a bit earlier and exercised whilst watching the BBC breakfast news!! :D
Definitely worth the effort though :D |

Try www.sauzeonline.com as they have a lot of honest hotel reviews on their forum - I haven't stayed here but IIRC the comments were all pretty positive.
Not sure if you have been before or not, but Sauze (and the rest of the Milky Way) is a fantastic ski area so assuming the snow has lasted you should have a great time. Enjoy!! :D |

When I first learnt to ski last year, my thighs were absolutely killing me by lunchtime (and I struggled to move on a morning with painful calves.) This year, I made an effort to get fit and a lot of hours on a cross trainer really paid off – no thigh problems at all and very minor calf ache for the first couple of days.
This made me smile as having seen a video this was me exactly last year. :D A lot of practice and several hours of lessons later I’m definitely getting better, though still have a massive amount to learn. One of these days I may be brave and try to put some of our holiday video up, (as a how NOT to ski…) if I can a) learn how to edit it and b) figure out how to post it. One other thing that also finally clicked, was how to un-weight my skis properly, rather than trying to move my whole body up and down, and closely resembling Tigger on skis…. This may also explain why I was so knackered last time. :D |

Apparently 'Relax' by Frankie Goes To Hollywood was No 1 on the day I was born.
Something I would quite like to do now, after 3 hours in a lab with first year chemists asking me 'Is this the right colour...?' I was also asked if someone could change one of their sessions as it clashed with their planned ski trip - very jealous, though sadly couldn't help. I wonder which one they're likely to cancel.... (lucky so and so!!) :( |

Back to the mother in law thread, I'm lucky that mine is lovely and we get on really well. She also bought ski boots for both myself and OH as a present, so that made her go up in my estimations even further!!! :D
On the skiing front, I feel quite bad for her as in her younger years, both herself and my husband wanted to learn to ski, but never got the chance as the rest of the family wouldn't go. Sadly, she now has bad arthritis and it would be way too much of a risk for her to try. Still, we may persuade them on a winter holiday one of these days, even if just to enjoy the scenery. :D |
