We too, usually ski in a group, but when we go just the two of us, we enjoy an organised trip, in that we always get to meet a lot of new people. The best price opportunities for two people often are lat minute bookings ~ provided that you are not too limited in a choice of airports.

6kg for skis, 1kg for bag, leaves 16kg for other luggage. Hand baggage, typically 10kg.
It's a good question, all my gear is weighed and recorded. My ambition is to go easyjet, just with hand baggage, (hire skis, or somewhere where I keep a set). For that to happen, Easyjet would need to give assurances they would accept the wearing of boots for going through security. |

That is the same position that I was in, so after my first season ended, as I drove back, I collected my GF in London, and drove up to Scotland, briefly pausing to say Hi to my folks in Manchester, and to take the opportunity to steal several days worth of food.
My GF then was introduced to skiing on Cairngorm. The following winter, we both went for the season on Niederau. By the time we got there, I had totally mixed up the finances, so, erm, later that year we got married. Result, innit. Except, that she now has a much better ski style than I do! Life is hard on guys.... |
