Where's your photo Eggman? Probably lost in cyberspace like the 3 I posted in the 'Les Gets - Lack of Snow' thread

Mine were there on Saturday when I posted them & I followed all the instructions very carefully - most annoying! Without the photos, it now looks like I've been posting totally random comments :P
I went to see it in Sheffield last night & really enjoyed it too:D . Sadly, I couldn't persuade anyone to come with me, so went to the cinema on my own for the first time ever :( . Great soundtrack too!

What would you take for Christmas?

RoseR wrote:Salski I think it was you that put me onto The Lapland forum. Log on there and you will be amazed at what some of those people manage to stash away in their cases. I still cant believe what they take.

RoseR, I can't believe what some of them take either - maybe they don't take any clothes :-)

Like you, we plan to take a small gift each, our Father Christmas on skis who normally sits on the top of our tree & a Christmas pudding.

Apart from that I'm glad to be escaping!

Our 11 year old will be delighted when he opens a little envelope with a lift pass in it

Normally, we have Christmas at home or with family. This year we will be away skiing, (if it snows). With ski boots & some self catering supplies in our luggage, we will only have a few spare Kg each in our 20kg allowance. What small items would you pack to help recreate the festive spirit in a compact, self catering Alpine apartment. (I've already made it clear that the tin of Quality Street is stopping at home)!

Who was bringing the J2ski whippet :D

Is dripping any good as an economy ski wax?

Well the great J2Ski Northern meet did take place tha knows! Both Eggman & myself, with our families turned up! We'd never met, never spoken to each other & hadn't arranged a specific meeting point, but amazingly we did spot each other! We all had a drink & a good long chat in the bar & plan to meet up in St. Gervais over Christmas when we happen to be out there at the same time. Thankfully, our whippets were remarkably well behaved too )

Hopefully if we do it again, a few more will be able to make it.

As for January 24th 2005, we struggled to even get around the village

Les Gets January 23rd 2006 - same slope from above :D

It just goes to show how different each year can be! 2007 was the worst year by far in my skiing memory. Even though we couldn't ski in Les gets in 2007, we went to Avoriaz every day. We were able to claim for 'piste closure' off our insurance which softened the blow a bit!
