As we often said to members of the army, any fool can be uncomfortable!

If it's anything like the Royal Air Force 'championships' that have been in Saalbach-Hinterglemm for the last few seasons, the numbers are swollen by 'dependents' - wives, husbands and children - and those who are still members of the RAF Winter Sports Association but are retired from the service.

Mind you, the navy always exaggerates everything it does!
Should I go to Switzerland?

Well said, Tone, I urge everyone to keep going to Val D, La Plagne, Les Deux Alpes (yuk!) etc etc and leave Swisserland nice and quiet for those of us who really appreciate it! -) There's good value in Swisserland, as you say, if you work at it! Looking forward to the Four Vallees!
I've skied in Arosa several times and visited Lenzerheide via the old off-piste route with a guide. Nice place, very efficient life system. Expensive to eat and drink but you can pick up decent, good value accommodation through the tourist office website. You don't say where you or how you're travelling. But if flying into Zurich, the best way is by train to Chur station and then a postbus to Lenzerheide from the bus station situated on the level above the railway station.

That's the right attitude; it really does pay off to get some good instruction. I doubt if your wobbly leg syndrome is due to your boots not being tight enough. Others will be along sometime to diagnose the problem, I'm sure! :)

I hesitated to bring up the subject of lessons and toyed with the idea of sending Mr Sm4sh a private message. I enjoyed the video very much, having been to La Thuile/La Rosiere in previous years.

Now the lessons genie is out of the bottle, I think Mr and Mrs Sm4sh should invest in a lesson or two; it will help enormously in taking their skiing to the next level - and avoid problems on the black or crashes on the bend before the lift!

This suggestion is meant in the spirit of being constructive. It's not meant to be impertinent or rude. I've been skiing for 40-plus years now and I always have a lesson early on to help remove the bad habits and keep abreast of the latest techniques!
I stayed in the Hotel Sauze once and it was the drabbest place ever. But that was in the 1970s! :)
