Dunno about marmite, decent schnitzel, though. Herbert gets some stick because he is somewhat unconventional, he tries to do almost everything himself in a 200 bed hotel.
Highlight of the week are his harp evenings, one which is geared to children.
Most nights I eat with him, and while he supplies the wine, I supply marketing advice. He is a kindly man, but can appear to be a bit gruff.
Hence people who want Hilton standard presentation are going to write adversely on TA. Those who like charachter will be delighted.

Harfenwirt trip advisor is unjust, I have known Herber for 41 years.
My www is at the top of my J2ski profile. Just 4 Niederau ski videos.

Niederau itself is very good for beginners.

Best Niederau location for you might be the Hotel Harfenwirt. It is on the bus route, straight across the road from a beginner poma, good for easing yourself back into it.
It is a sister hotel to the Sonnschein, and so would have the same free bus. If I recall correctly, the bus is sponsored by the Schiwelt lift company.

Schneebergers is good, it's just at the start of the road down to Oberau, 100m from the lift

That's a good shout, Finn, provided that the 8 man drops you off on blue runs.
Jane, we are staying HB in a farmhouse in the hills above Scheffau. You could have accessed all 4 videos by clicking my www.
Plan. 3 issues, flight/transfer/accomodation.
Transfer is easy, train to Kufstein, Then taxi to Westendorf.
You can get a direct info on flights. Lufthansa do Manchester/Munich.
Accomodation will be the most difficult, so you can go through the Schiwelt tourist office website, or the westendorf one.

"I can't believe you held it whilst skiing - no shakes or wobbling, amazing."
Before you lot get started, Jane is referring to my digi camera!
Jane, I am going to the other side of the schiwelt, on the same date, 26 Dec. Managed a cheap Easyjet flight to Munich, train to Kufstein, and let the Tourist board find my accomodation.
Does your local airport let you access Munich or Salzburg?

I didn't say the mini bus service was free! I think there is a combined charge, which includes a day pass. Once in Hopfgarten, with a pass, you could use the ski bus service to take you to Westendorf.
If you want to ski in Westendorf, why are you having difficulty in booking there? Do you plan to go at a busy time, eg schools holidays?
Are you looking to use a tour operator, or are you prepared to diy?

I agree about Westendorf. I have managed a terrific New Year offer on the schiwelt, and did ot through the tourist board. Emailed them my dates, and the hotels contacted me with offers. Great service.
