Thats a good shout about the Dianne, it's a good place, and great people.
So that is £300 for the Dianne, HB, £96 for the lufthansa to Munich, if still available. Train/taxi =£57. Total = £453. Think I will cancel Scheffau! New Year in Niederau is fabulous. Because it is a hanging valley, (caused of course by the famous dragon), the fireworks are seen for 360 degress on the mountain tops. There is a more expensive choice of transfer, door to door, with Four Seasons. |

Hi Ryan, this is normally the most difficult phase of every skiers progress. The only difference is the time taken to get through it. Some people 10 minutes, some 10 years. There is a lot that can be done to improve the process.
A key thing is to remind people of what they can do now, compared with their first day on skis. Talk to the ski school and ask if they have a class where the learning gradient is a low rise curve, ie very gradual learning. The choice of resort is critical. Maybe it might be wise not to get too personally involved, let their classes bond. Don't get hung up on progress to parallel. When you look at young children learning naturally, they are all snowploughing down the mountain. The snowplough can take you a long way. It then becomes much easier, when going back to a lesser slope, to then try the progression. There is a lot of info on youtube. |

Looking for assistance from J2skiers that have stayed in S/H. Slight preference for Hinterglemm, but Saalbach would be acceptable. Probably a hotel, since we like to meet up with new people. Mid Jan so it is low season. Accomodation Criteria:
Flexible ~ we are going Friday to Friday, before we move on to other resorts. Not modern, prefer older, lots of character, maybe with a stuben. Must have views, I paint water-colours, old buildings in the foreground would be lovely. Comfortable, clean, en-suite, balcony, (with views!) Ski-in would be a bonus, but close to the lift Quiet area. Live acoustic music, yes I know, I'm getting a bit fanciful now. Not club hotel, where English is the dominant language. Prefer an Austrian family run place. Tino offered one suggestion, it looks very nice, but is too modern, thank you anyway, Tino. I have, in the summer, stayed in the Blumen hotel, and while it was a nice place, it would not meet the criteria. So fellow J2skiers, who have been to Saalbach Hinterglemm, please let me have your pearls of wisdom and knowledge. |

The improvements are both welcome, and timely. Looking for accomodation just now.

£548 HB pp is not bad for New Year week.
DIY ~ Lufthansa £96 pp, train & taxi £57 return pp,so to equal that price, hotel cost must be £395, 466 Eu to equal, ie 66 Eu HB pp. That is a tough call. |

Good Lord, do you know everything, Bandit?
I have a belief that if some sites receive repeated clicks from the same sites, the price jumps |

Gone UP £257? My whole New Year week, flights, transfer, HB farmhouse is only £470!
