Depends when you go though.
January very quiet when we went.
If the slopes are very busy you can avoid the beginners in the bowl by avoiding going right in to the bottom.

Love the TDF.....the 3 weeks is a wonderful tour of French villages, Chateaux and scenery....much of it from the air.

I was going to kind of jump into Shona's post and ask about the St Gervais railway.
We saw it at Les Houches last year, but it was never suggested that you can catch it an ski at St Gervais - is the opposite an alternative?
