At least we are ready for the snow to arrive.

Sounds familiar
New gear for the kids and any old thing for those paying!!

It was always sunglasses that got me
They are sat on, lost in lifts, left, forgotten, lens lost in a fall ....
And one thing I insist on reasonable quality with.
Got a pair of socks on my Santa list.

I feel totally indequate ........

I don't have any brilliant stories about amazing falls.
Mine all seem to be of the very silly variety rather than the wow variety.

:XD:
And someone got paid for this ???

Are you looking at what may be available in the shop you are planning to go to?
Personally I would just go into the shop and spend a few minutes explaining your skiing experience and aspirations to the guy/gal - maybe waiting until you can get someone who you can chat with (speaks English?).
If there is some part of skiing you would like a ski to "help" with say so - for example if you find moguls a bit tricky ask for something that would help (probably a softer tip, maybe a bit shorter).
You'll probably get something suitable - I reckon most people in the shops quite like being asked for advice
And then don't forget one great advantage of hire skis - you can go back and change them. Maybe same ski a size longer/shorter, maybe something different.
I've skied the Tornado ti and thought it was an excellent piste ski, very stable and agile too, long turns, short turns - I enjoyed it.
But, I found it really difficult after a foot of heavy snow fell (no way I would call that snow powder - concrete more like it!).
Should have gone back and swapped out for something longer and wider.
Anyway that's my way

Everything will be open Xmas Eve, Xmas Day etc - it's a tourist place so stays open when the tourists are there :D

Great central place to stay to ski both locally and to venture further into the three valleys.

Resort is not pretty at all and can be particularly bleak if the weather is bad but there is still a good choice of things around; shops, bars, restaurants etc - enough to keep most people happy.

Plenty of skiing for novice and expert alike and the pistes are very well looked after in general.

Enjoy
Amazing how a week changes things!
