Just to complete the information on the choice of lift passes, there is a pass that allows skiing throughout Tirol. The price is 608 Euros, and so compares favourably with the Kitzbuhle Allstar pass. The Tirol pass covers the Zillertal, and the Innsbruck area resorts. Not really for you Emma, but for those considering an Allstar pass....
The downside is that they do not appear to be offering an early booking discount. |

Many hotels in Niederau are a walk across the road to the lifts. The red ski school is highly rated, and has a number of good boarding instructors. All of the ski/boarding instructors speak English.
Accomodation is reasonable and good standard. The resort is good for all standards of skiers, but doesn't have a lot of individual runs. There is a free ski bus up to Auffach, where the skiing is a bit more extensive and a little easier. Having said that, if you like to get a lot of skiing in a day, Niederau is good, much better than many mainline resorts. |

Allie, that is a good site, thanks.
Ian, Easy go to Innsbruck from Bristol, Liverpool, Gatwick. To Salzburg from Bristol & Gatwick, and to Munich from Edinburgh Gatwick, Stanstead & Manchester. |

The purpose of this was to assess the opportunities for diy. I was surprised to discover there seems to no low cost carriers go to Munich, Innsbruck or Salzburg. So you might be looking for a TO. Iglu are showing a range of £450+ offers to Bulgaria and Andorra, and £540~ £600 offers to Ital, France, Austria. You asked about snow depth, and I was interested enough to research the Iglu snow history record. It was remarkable about how similar the snow depths were. I felt that the one that stood out was Sauze d'Oulx. My view is that at this time of year, the DIY has become costly, mainly because of flights. I have a good NY deal, but it was organised in July. |

I think the Iplayer time has run out, only retained for 7 days. It has disappeared from Facebook, too.
Steady, tigress! You can have a go at stalking me down the Tennladen if you like! |

It's going to be a great season, I feel in my boots!
Yes, the Proms were an interesting experience, not the telly bit, but the whole choral creation thing, within a 4 week period, having to learn so many songs, intensive rehearsals, (9 hours per weekend)and meeting all the stars, (who were very pleasant), together with the BBC folk, conductor. The orchestra guys were great, full of fun. It was really hard work, but very rewarding. ~~~Have been invited to join 5 choirs~ apparently there is a shortage or tenors, (whatever they are!) I can assure you my voice is less than average bathroom standard! |

I agree about the KitzAllStar pass, but this would cost Emma 590 Euros as opposed to 290. Having bought 5 or 6 consecutive season passes, this year I plan to go with the KAS, but then I may get double the time that Emma will get.
Even with a season pass, I did go for the odd day to Kitz, Schiwelt, Alpbach et all, and just buy a day pass. |

If you click onto "Dokumente tarife" at the bottom of the page, a pdf will open. I mis-read it, the straight 2 week pass is 270 Euros, you cannot split. The 242 Euros is 10 in 14 days.
So, at 290, the season pass looks better by the minute. Do I hear a few long weekends and a pre-Christmas getting thrown in? This has to be one of the best ski pass deals in the Alps. |
