Start another thread to ask about Valmorel - I've never skied there but passed through in the summer.
It's got a reputation as a decent resort, very family firendly, quite compact, no cars, reliable skiing.

I reckon if you can land at Geneva you will be fine.
Where are you going? What level is the resort?
On Friday it will be raining hard up to somewhere above 1600m with the snow coming down to the lower levels in the evening/over night.
If you are in a high level resort the last few miles could be a bit slow.
But I'm sure you'll get there.
