I agree with that, Wanderer, although, I will do anything to ski back. One slushy March, I had been eying a short cut all week, thinking this would make a great jump. So, with a day or so to go, heading home in slushy snow, I headed off the path, straight down, took the jump ~really well~except that when I was up in the air~ this was not a good time to discover there was no snow to land on. Landed on my skis, then my head, then a faceful of mud. Not to mention, everything else covered in mud.
Later, the Hausfrau would not let me into the hotel. I had to strip off in the street, she put my gear into the laundry, and I went into the bar in my Y fronts. |

Wanderer,
Yes, it doesn't matter where you go to in the Arlberg, or the Voralberg, or whatever method, direct or through an agent, what level of discount, and there are different levels, the bottom line always comes out the same. There are coincidencies and coincidences. So when I was there last year, and had started bonding with the locals, this subject came up. It may not come as a complete surprise, that ALLEGEDLY, over an extended period of time, all the equipment hire shops have been bought up by the same family. It does look suspicious, and my view at the time was that it should be a subject that might be of interest to the European Competition Authorities. |

From Mayrhofen you might have a 40km round trip in getting to and from the Tux, before you get on the lift.
Obergurgl sound a good suggestion. The snow history indicates consistent snow at village level in April. |

Well, it is two hundred and one years, but thought it was worth repeating once. It is a big part of the history of Tirol, when the Tirol was used as a bargaining tool with Napoleon.
I imagine that many ski valleys throughout Europe have their own treasured history. |

I think we need to set the record straight here. It's obviously a beeg sore point. One moment I'm breezing along, not a care in the world, giving Admin, lots of respect, space, courtesy. I spot a really good line, tight into the hill and the trees, so, giving Admin a HUGE space to work in, I mean, at least a whole ski width, Then he suddenly wants more space. So, for a brief second, my left boot kissed Admins right boot, pleasantries were exchanged, and, to my mind, full happiness ensued. It wasn't even close. So then, what is your version, Admin. I will admit there are always two sides. |

In principle this sounds promising. It would be particularly good for early skiers. Also, many folk are a tad unhappy about the hygiene element of boot hire. It would make the try on time quicker.
There are cost benefits to the supplier too. If the punter has "shelled" out an inner, shouldn't there be a reduction in boot hire cost? The shop is selling liners, buying in only shells, and saving fitting time. Dunno what CEM will make of this! |

Now, I am pretty sure that Skiset, would not like to be seen as distancist! ~ Distance being the only reason I cannot make Ski show.
Am in for booking six pairs of skis for a week, then two pairs a couple of weeks later. Subject to the right level of discount of course.... Admin??? |
