We didn't last easter in Tignes. Some people did and some didn't. As far as I could tell it seemed to be those who partied hard were joining in - and I include children in this! The "entertainment" seemed a laugh from what I saw but was in French. I would say that you won't feel silly, or a party pooper if you don't dress up specially for the theme nights. |

Proper countdown now Tony. I'm sure it will be an amazing trip for you. Never been to ADH but it is a top resort. Now Chambery .... I love it  But as in another thread it is not to everyone's taste. No shops, bit tiny, basic walk to terminal from plane etc. Only tip I have on the return journey is not to go through to departure too soon. There is NOTHING through there - and go to the loo first!! Ladies especially note this Top Tip  Loos always seem to have a long queue. No idea on transfer time for you but in my experience the off plane to coach leaving is a lot quicker than GVA. |

I think this is mean, really mean ....
Posting websites with lovely skis and things at really good prices ....... All trying to seduce me into convincing myself I just have to have X, Y or Z and that if I do I will be being really sensible. |

Agree with Tony with one exception.
If your skiing has dramatically changed/progressed/got faster or if your body has dramatically changed (fat!) the boots may be a bit soft. So ... If the flex range of your boots suit you this year and they fit then changing them will not improve your skiing - except, of course, for the psychological boost of flashy, pretty, fancy new boots! |

Your issue in mid Jan is going to be the weather.
If the roads are clear then the journey is straightforward and 3hours including a supermarket stop is a reasonable guess. I prefer via Annecy/Ugine and Albertville, a slower but shorter road than autoroute via Chambery. But ... If it dumps when you are either due to arrive or depart you could have real probs. On arrival - you will have a long slow journey. On your departure you could find yourself having to gamble on just how long to leave to make your flight. I like to self drive if I think I will use the car in resort, but wouldn't in January just because with a TO they have the knowledge on hand to know what the roads are likely to be like for the return trip. |

Santa brought me a Drift x170 in my stocking!
No idea yet how good it will be or how much I will use it, historically I usually forget my gadgets are in my rucksack but we will see. So far ... It works! It works on my head!! You can tell the video is of a cat !!! Didn't want a GoPro as the shape and mounting positions just seemed too obtrusive for my taste. |
