No it wouldn't IMHO, prefer not to be scared and still go to the resorts with a smile on my face.

I love the one more sleep, a packed bag in the hallway, a parking place at the airport... on the plane the first sighting of the mountains... the mountain air when you get off... asking the rep what the snow is like in resort!! I get so excited I could wee!! Fingers crossed this is me in a month's time!!

High!
High resort and high skiing.
Even though the snow so far has been amazing this season prudence suggests guaranteed snow is essential.

BUT .....

You could leave booking until late March (say) and see what happens.
I'd be thinking of Tignes, Val Thorens, L2A possibly, Val D'Isere, maybe Les Arcs.

I'm sure there a few other really high skiing resorts worth a look but the above I know.
Questions for me would be what sort of skiing are you looking for (level) and does the resort have enough for me at a high level. North facing holds the snow. What do I feel about skiing slush? Personally I have always enjoyed soft, slushy snow but I know some hate it.

For example I skied in Tignes last year at the end of April and what wasn't a brilliant season - only used 5 or 6 lifts all week due to poor conditions but still had plenty of skiing and a great time. And skied to and from the hotel every day.
