I remember it snowing in Southampton, when I was working there. There was chaos on the roads, over 1" of slush

I come from Southampton and can only remember snow twice. Is Calshot indoor ski slopes still in use Hamish?
Guess what ?

I might have to try it out over here if we ever get some snow with our RIB.

Yes that one was in Seefeld. A snowmobile pulls the raft with the people in, with the skier on the back, then unclips the raft at the top and the skier guides it down. Its fast and very bumpy but great fun

I dont consider myself a good skier or boarder. I am not fast or stylish. I love what I do and every year I improve and learn something new. One thing I never do, and thats not just on the slopes its in all walks of life, I never compare my-self to others. I dont set my targets on what other people can do, I always set them on what I do. That way I dont get too disapointed.
Guess what ?

Some sort of slide or chute for snow tubes or toboggans.
Or is there a swimming pool at the end of that and its a water chute?

Has any-one seen this done at resorts. The skier must have tremendous strength, sometimes the raft comes down so fast the skier has to get alongside it, and then to the front of it to steer it and get it to stop. Great fun

Several times over the years I have sat in a deckchair, with my Gluwein, at the top of a mountain. I look over at the restaurant, shops and what ever else is on top of the montain and wonder how the hell did they build it. How did they get all that glass, bricks, cement sand etc up to the top of the mountain? How do the builders get to work?.
Do they build monorails, ski lifts, or hoists first.? Do they drop it in from above?. Has any-one been about resorts or live in them when this building happens. I am just curious. Or is there a building firm made up of class skiers who go up to build with their spirit levels and spades and at the end of the day ski back down to go home?
