Just in case any-one thinks my Husband has flipped re previous Star wars pic "I hunt ewoks". He really does do this, he is part of a charity group , Dorset Troupers and does kids party,s, corporate events carnivals etc raising money for Gt Ormonds St hosp. He makes all the helmets and armour in our garage, at times it looks like we have a small army in there. That photo was at the weekend in Milton Keynes doing a big 4 day charity event. Well it takes his mind off pining for snow.

Oh I remember the "stop the toddler triathlon" although many years ago. We generally surf, In fact we were surfing before we were ski-ing. Living by the sea its quite convenient, although we do head to Cornwall in the summer. Still have a love of tennis although I dont play so much, having a son who is a professional tennis coach, Wimbledon tickets seem never to be a problem.

Hi while we are all pining for the slopes and getting severe withdrawal symptoms, just wondering what other sporting or non sporting activities do we all get up to in the summer months?....Discuss

Oh how I wish I had a photo or better still video of my elegant and embarrasing slide on my rear end. We were in Seefeld watching the ski jumping, not even on the slopes. It was January 2006, record snow in Seefeld all the public paths had been cleared but all the snow was piled up at the side of the paths in one long continuous wall of snow. My Husband busy watching the ski jumps I decided to take my beer and sit on the wall of snow. The wall gave way, I slid down the wall, across the path and all the way down the slope where all the TV crews were filming. There were so many people about by the time I composed myself the next thing I saw was my elegant descent flashed across the large TV screens at the venue. The wall that had given way acted like a domino effect and collapsed all the way along. Good job my beer was in a bottle I hardly spilt a drop. I wore different clothes for the rest of the week in case any-one recognised me. You never know it could turn up on YOU,VE BEEN FRAMED.

I agree, get what you can free on the nhs, but seek some extra private help. My son is an LTA professional tennis coach, he picks up a few injuries from time to time. He always says sports physio,s are more in tune with sports injuries than say a physio thats helping people recover from operations. Certainly the big sports club he works for has their own on site sports physio for staff and for members, at a fraction of the cost that say BUPA will charge. Just a thought.
