TK Maxx as a rule start stocking ski wear in October, although exactly when they dont know.

I got stung on ebay a couple of weeks ago on a pair of ski gloves. Although they were advertised as worn once, for an hour. When they arrived a two inch split down thumb seam on one and a one inch split on the other. Got my money back eventually, but cost me on return of postage. She still insists they were perfect when sent, perhaps the postman wore them for a while.
Guess what ?

The locals were all overjoyed at 6-9' feet of surf, but I got squashed flat the first time in the water (no board) and cut my heel open quite badly on the coral (tut)
And don't get me started on the rip tides, and the Tiger sharks hanging around in the river outflows
Bournemouth sounds good!

Well at least no sharks, just dreaded weaver fish. Had a weaver fish sting about 10 years ago, the worst pain I have ever been in, had neuro-toxic poisoning,i never venture in the water without wet suit boots now.

Because they've got a ps3 and we allow them to play it for a few hours a week does that make us bad parents?

No it makes you good parents, all the sports, family orientated and most children have a games console. Its the poor kids who only have their games console who sit and play on their own for many hours a day, with no family activities or fun and sports. My life was all about my lad and did every-thing I could to spend time with him on family expeditions and sports.

If this reef is successful, great, I will use it just because its there, but it will be of little benefit to a lot of people. Its intention is not to even be for the locals who have to pay for it, its designed to attract people to Bournemouth and to try and upmarket a fast declinening 'nice little seaside place'. It will never be achieved unless the undesirables are removed.
I too am a great believer in keeping kids off the streets, and off playstations etc. I think more money should be put into sport development, whatever the sport.
I spent years absolutely skint because of my sons tennis abilities, apart from a racquet sponsership that was all the help we could get. The cost of lessons, tournament fees, court fees, tennis shoes, clothes, travel etc were nearly a weeks wages, per month. At the age of 14 he was regularly beating lads that now make up our british davis cup team. No wonder at the age of 16 he decided to pack it all in, 'cos we could not keep up with his rich friends, and he would never be able to progress up the ranks. Fair play to him now he has turned it into a lucrative career as a professional tennis coach.
What I,m trying to say is, yeh surf reef, great idea kids will love it but how many parents round here can afford, wetsuits, surf boards, lessons and membership to surf clubs. Council build new tennis courts, but how many parents can afford £15 court fees, racquets, tennis shoes, lessons etc, especially for several kids. Money needs to be put into place to make these facilities more affordable.
Rant over now.
