lessons or no lesson

I am impressed that you are taking your one year old! How did you perceive that you would look after him, and manage lessons? You could discuss with the ski school as to the best solution. You can do that beforehand, just phone them up.

Trencher, it is now an alternative sport. Not too many, but in general, they aren't rescue dogs, just dogs and ski-owners having fun. There is a regular in Niederau. Mostly flats and downhills, but I have seen the dog pul the ski-owner up the length of the draglift. My OH and I are dog trainers, and we don't see an issue.
The search and rescue dogs are terrific to see in action.

The Lidl and Aldi Helmets are to a DIN standard.

Dave,
Are you saying you skied rings around the other J2Skier?

Will you and your boots be celebrating the forthcoming anniversary?

Nope, you cannot ski rings..... No, when I met the J2skier, I really liked him, and we did a run down together. I had rather a long wait at the bottom, but that is no issue, I am not one for capability comparisons. One persons easy is another persons difficult. However, he subsequently seemed to develop other issues, calling the area that he skied quite slowly, as "good for beginners"! It's no big deal.

It will be difficult to celebrate the silver wedding with the boots, because I bought them one June, in the well known ski resort of Poynton! perhaps I will bring the anniversary forwards a few months, when we will cover Austria/New Zealand / Australia /Austria!
Who is going Niederau and when?

Just a young thing........
Fun! I had a target shooting friend that took great delight in turning up on a range with kit 20 years out of date. The locals used to take the mickey or offer patronising advice. Right up until he shot rings round them!

Fantastic! That happened between me, (me & my boots are approaching our silver wedding!), and another J2skier. He hasn't stopped slagging off Niederau since!
For those of you going to Niederau soon.....

Two atoms of hydrogen with one atom of Oxyg.....oh, you were 'aving a larf!

To reinforce admin's point, early skiers have to work MUCH harder than more experienced souls, so a softer, easier flex, produces easier turns. When you discuss this lady's speed, you might actually be at 10 kph, whereas a performance ski might operate at 50kph.

I recently hired from Skiset for a group. Most people took middle level. For the beginner, and for myself, I booked the lower level. The beginner experienced good soft skis, I had a fantastic time whipping down the runs, floating, turning on demi-euros, blah-di-blah. The key thing is that we discussed the needs with the operator, when we collected.

Oh, and weren't the other "middle level" guys peed off! :D
