Glacier Skiing - Insurance
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 15 Replies
Hi, Guys I use the British Mountaineering Council's insurance, Alpine& Ski. (www.thebmc.co.uk) 01614456111. It cost's £136.66 per year it covers me for offpiste with, without a guide, on my own, Heliskiing, rails, jumps, parks,(not that I can do all of these) but it does not actually mention glacier sking, I never thought to ask but the same insurance covered me for climbing Mt. Blanc. It also covers me for any number of trips up to a maximum of 93 days per round trip. ) Its about £35 a week for me depending how many times we ski, but it gives the O/H piece of mind, as she only ever skis on piste  and uses the carte niege.

bandit wrote:Eggman, it will be a close run thing with your bunions if you expect to be skiing early season. Can your feet be done together?

Well done on the Mont Blanc climb  I don't think I would be up for that, it seems pretty intimidating.
Did you overnight at one of the Refuges?

(As you can see I know very little about climbing)

Shame about the lift ticket though :( When are you next back to St Gervais?

Hi, we are back in St Gervais 16th of October.Yes we did stop in a refuge overnight, an experiance not to be missed, very cosy.I dont know if you can have them done both at the same time, but that would give me less time off work

Blimey

No mean feat (no pun intended) How did you get on with the climb?

We got to within 20 metres, yes 20 meters from the top and had to turn back due to high winds, We were glad to get down, and no I won't be trying again. :D
I think the recovery time for bunions is 6 weeks for each foot :!: We haven't got our pass's yet because the Tourist info office was shut when we went to St Gervais last week.

I think Brits can be heard "whinging" so loudly is the fact that we can uderstand them, but I agree we do seem to be a tad too loud these days. :(
