I knew I should have gone to Contamines for the day.

We generally drive and take both sets. All i can say is what ever your wife feels more confident on then that is what she should go with, remember skiing should be fun and not taken too seriously.

Hi, I forgot about the costs, we used to take both pairs of blades in a big O`niel bag, before we got our own place. They are made by Head and have quick release bindings.
Hi We have used both O/H stayed on them longer than me.I agree they are very easy to use. You can spend alot of time walking as you don`t have poles. I have a pair in St. G but dont use them and have lent them to friends who prefer them. As long as she enjoys them what does it matter?

Hi, they play in green and red now and have a big sponser, Borini Coaches. Forgot to say the Ice rink at ST. G has been revamped and is nice and warm inside, you don`t need your ski jacket on to watch :D We still spend every a lot of time in the bar though )

Hi Salski, as you know she is a Northern lass so by the time she had lunch, ( fish & chips) bought some new clogs she was in heaven, so it didn`t cost me much :D. Already told Salski, but we got free tickets on Sunday to the local derby Icehockey match, St. G.& Mt Blance v Morzine, St G. won 3-2 in extra time, result ). Sill not enough snow in St. G. according to a txt message yesterday.

Hi had a great day yesterday. Woke up and could see it had been snowing, got up went up on the first lift for skiers, called for a crosoint on the way ). Loveley soft snow skied until 10.30. Phoned O/H to meet back at the car so she could come up,oh no lift back to bottom running slow. They reckoned it would take an hour to get down and back,(I heard some were stuck for 3 hrs in the lift, unconfirmed at the moment) normally 16mins each way. :( O/H says she won`t bother and to stay as long as I like. Due to the slow lift and change over day St. G very quite. The snow has improved things, but the crowds today :( Its also French half term here aswell, glad we are going home tommorow.

Hi am in St G. since Monday. We have skied Tuesday wednesday @ Les Contamines and it snowed for couple of hours on Tuesday but its still very icey underneathe. There is snow, its just hard packed. A tale of woe; we set of Tues morning to ski, got half way to Contamines when O/H asked where the helmets were. Back to the apartment to pick them up. Got up to Signal at Contamines skied 500yds came across a poor French girl laid in the snow, boyfriend on the phone. We stopped, put their crossed skis up above them as you should. Nobody else stopped to ask them if they were OK. 15mns later a sledge arrived,10 mins after him a snowmobile during this tme a couple of skiers stopped to ask if everyhing was Ok. One stayed to marshall the skiers to one side of the piste with us. 3/4 of an hour later we were on our way. We get to the first chair, the brand new Nant rouge 6 man chair. O/H doent go through, so I try to stand to one side to get on next chair with her, chair come round knocks me arse over t-t. Great start to the day  Rest day today will ski tomorrow.
