Been very busy so know time to even look at the webcams for a while. Had a quick look earlier today and all the lower slopes look rather green again, although it also looks quite cold which is good for when it will snow next. Nothing much forecast right now, but maybe later next week. The higher slopes have a little covering which is a good sign so fingers crossed for the next week to lay down a base. Only just over 3 weeks until the slopes open. Remember anyone wanting the discounted season pass, you need to buy it before the end of November.

Snapzzzz, my advice for new Year is to book somewhere to eat in advance if you have a place you know you want to go to. If you do not care, then you are sure to find somewhere, but maybe not as good.

The bars get busy, but the best for a laugh is normally the Bar-King-Mad down at the Villars end.

If I remember correctly, I think they do the fireworks on the piste by the Vagere Chair at Arc 1800 and in the other stations as well. You will need to check the times for yourself when you arrive. Hope that helps.
Pleased you got is sorted Shipjack, hope to see you in Les Arcs. Send me a PM if you fancy meeting up for a beer or even a ski whilst you are out.

To help others figure this out. Someone else explained it so here is how it works.

On the Les Arcs web site. When you enter the dates you want the pass for it changes the cost and then gives you the discount. So without the discount, the difference between the Discovery pass for a week giving you one day in La Plagne and the Les Arcs/Peiesey area pass is 24 Euros. So it is worth buying the discovery pass in advance as this is cheaper than buying it as an upgrade when you get to Les Arcs.

If you buy your passes whilst the discount is still valid, having a full paradiski pass will cost 1 Euro more than the normal price for a discovery pass, but you need to buy it before the 31st October to make the saving.

The normal price of a full paradiski pass is 262.50 Euros.

I hope that all makes sense now. Enjoy your holidays
Hi Shipjack, I do not agree with the earlier posts. If you are coming to Les Arcs or La Plagne it is well worth getting the discovery pass. Not sure the prices someone posted are correct, normally the difference between a discovery which gives you one day in La Plagne is only about 25 Euros more than the Les Arcs Area pass without the discount.

If you buy the upgrade when you get to les Arcs it costs more than getting it in advance. Remember discounts stop on 31st October!!

NOW FOR THE WEATHER NEWS!!!

Hi everyone.

Time to take a look at the webcams and start to think maybe the winter has arrived.

Snow down to Bourg and still snowing. Could this be the beginning of the winter. Bit early really, but we can always hope.

...I love webcams sometimes. It does not matter where you are, it is still possible to see what is going on.

Here are the live feeds that are working today. Added a new one for Bourg.

Hi guys, I have heard that people are not sure when the La Plagne site will be online and they have not confirmed to me that they will be offering this discount. Remember the discount finishes on the 31 October which is next Wednesday. Unless you are sure the discount is going to be offered I suggest you get the paradiski pass. Well worth the money and you can come and visit Les Arcs for a day or more.

And yes, last year it did not matter whether you bought it on the Les Arcs or La plagne side, it still works at the start of the day wherever you are. The only problem you may have is if it goes wrong.

Hope that helps.

Try Les Arcs. Has all levels of skiing and is well linked. You can take a discovery pass to La Plagne for the day if you wish. The two resorts are linked by the vanoise Express, biggest cable car in the world they say!

Best of all, if you buy your lift pass before the end of october you get a 15% discount so hurry.

Just a little reminder that the discounted lift passes for 3 to 15 days for Les Arcs and the Paradiski area are only on sale until the end of October. Hurry if you want to save money on your holiday. Visit the Les Arcs lift office on the link below. Not sure if the same offer is on sale in the La plagne office, but if you buy the Paradiski pass it is valid on both sides of the Vanoise Express.

Nelly and others, if you want to see pics of conditions last season in La Plagne, visit my Les Arcs facebook page as spend loads of time over on the La Plagne side as well.

If you are coming to La Plagne for a week it is worth getting the one day discovery pass for sure. Very easy to get across on thew vanoise express and makes a fun day out from anywhere in la plagne.
