At the moment we are having a tram system built which is a real nightmare, 3 years of MAJOR roadworks, road closures, business going under and general misery.
In an attempt to entice the public back into town they came up with a genius idea, a monster banner! the thing is cringe worthy and an embarrassment to the local community.
It said 'Welcome to beeston' blah blah blah.

Anyhow, out came photoshop, i just couldn't help myself.

The pic went a bit wild around local social media sites and i opened the local paper today to see the story in print!!!

I know all the downsides of VT (no trees etc) but I've only ever lost about an hour's visibility in the 3 times I've been there

Meribal is more central to stay but Its such a spread out place that if you got thewrong accomodation you could be a long walk from the restaurants and bars I think?

Still would reccomend the 3V to anyone though - and I've never seen it busy......

PS sorry for my bad english

I think he's talking about Folgaria, not Folgarida, they're different resorts!

Ah Folgaria - first place I ever skiied

School trip when I was about 10 years old - the location may have had something to do with the fact that the hotel was owned by one of the teachers's family.....

As that's approx 30 years ago I'm not going to sommment on facilities or the like but should def have snow!

I wouldn't normally go New Year either but the fates conspired against me that week

I'm sure that queues are not that bad generally but, speaking as I found, they were then which gave me pause.

Equally the home run down the Medran was scarily busy at close of play with the usual mix of beginners and idiots who should know better but that's a different topic. Choice of resort wont stop you getting idiots!

Me too but it does fail on your criteria of lift queues Tony - worst waits I've had were the mornings in Verbier

That said it was New Year so I'd be willing to give it another go
