Congratulations Rose - hope it works out well for you :D |

I'm the opposite in the fact that I love flying but am terrified of heights ('though fortunately am OK on chairlifts.) Not sure how I'd cope on the Mayrhofen gondola, but as the skiing looks fabulous I think I could shut my eyes and manage somehow, particularly as this is a place high up on my 'to ski' list :D

I guess you will be high on the agenda as soon as they get the vaccine sorted. I know how you feel, as my OH is also diabetic and although he's fit and healthy, I worry if he does catch it then it could be nasty. Still, there's not much that we can do about it. :( Tony - hope your son feels better soon. |

Spammers don't stand a chance with you and Pabs on their case - Admin could well find himself out of a job :D |

Whichever you choose, I'm guessing it's going to make a great spectator sport so you can expect a large J2Ski audience to cheer you both on :D

Sorry to hear about your accident - hope you're on the mend soon and manage to get away to Chile to enjoy your holiday (with or without the snowboard). )

Glad to hear that lots of people are getting booked up and looking forward to next season. I've spent hours pouring over the brochures, but daren't book anything yet as my funding runs out at the end of October and as yet, I haven't managed to find a job (which is really scary.) :(
I've applied for a couple with no success, but there is virtually nothing about at the moment. I'm pinning my hopes on something that isn't even advertised yet, which is a project that looks amazing and I'm really excited about. It also has the advantage of collaborations in the States, one of which is within reach of a number of ski resorts.... Fingers crossed.... ) |

I can also thoroughly recommend Sauze - I was there for a fortnight in January and also a week in January 2008 and the skiing is fantastic (mostly reds, some of which are a lot easier than others.)
You should be able to ski back to the village, weather permitting (it can be a bit hit and miss as Tony pointed out), and if the snow is really good (like it was this year), there is also a run back to Jovenceaux which is the village below (although there's a chairlift which goes both ways if it isn't.) It's also not too expensive and a fairly short transfer (just over an hour from Turin.) Here's a couple of pics of some of the skiing below the tree line: This is one of the runs back to Sportinia (one of the more taxing reds)
This is the run down to Jovenceaux
Hope this is some help ) Lynn |
