The great Lech ski hire swindle!!!!

It might just be considered relevant that all the hire shops in the Arlberg are owned by one family....
That, at least was the case three years ago.

I doubt that Mrs Iceman has smelt worse, she is a lady of delicate fragrance.... But coming back to 15kgm, that does include ski boots?
And so it came to pass.

The Adaptive ski instructor made the young lad's day. I have watched the video, and they skied over some bumpy stuff ~ not easy in a sit ski.
Late skiing?

There is an issue here that some folk put up their fave resort, without due consideration of the full range of parameters
I can see three considerations, and listed in importance, ~ suitable for a young person that has not skied before, snow conditions, and accessibility from the preferred airport.

I would suggest looking at the inside back page of the Inghams brochure for 5 stars for the beginner category.

Then check Iglu/snow reports/snow history/countries/resorts.

Finally, check the accessibility from the preferred airport.

There is no denying that the SW has steep sections. By no means anywhere near the steepest I have skied, (which was in Colorado, I will be doing it again sometime over the next couple of weeks)

I am not a great believer in advising about particular steep runs, since there are so many variables. If someone is unclear, they may elect to accept an opinion from an experienced skier who knows both the run, plus the individual's capability.
Certainly there are buses to the Oeztal from Innsbruck airport. It takes about one and a half hours from Innsbruck to Obergurgl. Acarr provides the link.
Big Snow Storms Due To Hit Europe

Nope, I just heard this is a big mistake by the forecasters.

The snow storm has diverted towards Vail, due to hit there on Thursday/Friday. Should be good by Sunday....

Easyjet would have been my first port of call, Gatwick or Stanstead. I had a quick look, but full at half term. This seems to be rather late date to look at a half term date.

Is driving an option? Portsmouth ~ Cherborg?
