I am trying to put together a 3/4 day trip in mid December and might try Austria this time. I have only ever skied in St Anton in Austria and usually go to France or Italy as when going DIY it just seems easier.
As we are flying from Dublin we are limited to Geneva, Munich and Bergamo this time of year. The flight times to Geneva and Munich are always the best but rather than the 3 Valleys this year we fancy something a bit different and preferably not French. Can anyone let me know where might be a good spot for a long weekend early season within about two hours drive from Munich? Thanks. |

Cheers Admin, I thought as much but just getting some early planning ideas. I will most likely end up in the 3 valleys again or Tignes anyway.

Seeing as I am back from my summer holidays I think it is time to start to planning for my first ski trip. We usually go to France in mid December for a few days and am looking to do something a bit different if possible this year. I have been looking at opening dates for next winter but am getting very little information so far.
Anyone know where I should be looking? Thanks. |

Meribel in mid Dec 2012. Epic conditions with fresh powder on the slopes and at one stage we didn't see another skier for a good twenty minutes. It was bliss. Mid week in December can be a great time if the snow is good.

Besides Steve Redgrave who are these people?

Have a look at accomodation in Meribel Valley or La Tania. They are both in a great location in regards to quick access to the whole of the 3 valleys and would be better value than Meribel centre or Courchevel.
