We are 45 mins from Salzburg in the middle of the Ski Amade region. The snow is great, the skiing has been open for weeks, and snow is falling now.

I live just down the road - Schladming has been open since 26th October.
Its not fully open but there is plenty to do. Plus the mountains either side are also open. And, Flachau and Zauchensee are open - they are all on the same lift pass. Its snowing again and due to snow all week. You will have a great time, the pistes are nice and quiet too. :D |

I live in the middle of ~Ski Amade - 45 mins from Salzburg. We have had loads of snow. Schladming has been open since 26th October, Reiteralm is also open and had the World Cup there a couple of weekends ago.
Zauchensee and Flachau opened last weekend. Loads of deep powder and loads of fun. :D |

Height isnt everything - last year Austria was doing much better than other countries for christmas snow - we even have snow now and some places are open already.
Have a look at Flachau in Ski Amade, 45 mins from Salzburg. It has loads of nightlife/clubs. More info at www.skiamade.com and www.flachau.com :) |

Ski Amade in Austria is about 3 hours drive. Have a look at www.skiamade.com - there is also an accommodation request form on there too.

Depending on where you are going, you will be fine in March, its Feb thats very busy. :)
