Have booked to go to Les Gets in February and am concerned about the lack of snow. Anybody know when the first dumps normally arrive? I remember last year by this time there was a good base.

I would go for Les Gets in the PDS. I see Morzine has been reccommended to. Les Gets is within the same huge Ski area, but in my opinon is a much nicer Alpine village.

Anybody know of any ammmazzzing offers for the 14th Feb (Half Term Week) for a family of 4. 2 Adults and 2 kids?

Mmmm interesting points of view. I for one would have them out of school and in the car on the way to the alps before you could say education authority!

I think that they'll learn more from a week on the slopes speaking french and generally having fun than they would at school anyway.

I think my wife's hesitancy points back to Easter when we took the kids to Jamaica for 3 weeks. We had to have 2 days off school to fit 3 weeks in. We got letters home and all sorts. Tell me that the kids would have done any work in those last 2 days of term? I doubt it!

Tony - not sure if my wife would be willing to take the kids out of school, although I am very tempted. As you say almost half the cost and quiter slopes into the bargain!

For the poster whoh asked - there are 4 of us. Two adults and two kids aged 6 and 10.

What do you think are my best bets for a credit crunch beating holiday during our Feb half term. The prices seems to be similar to last year online (Through estate agents etc) but there seems to be a lot of availability.

Do you all think I would be better to wait and see if prices drop or bite the bullet now?

We normally go to Les Gets. Any other reccomendations for family friendly resorts which might be lower in price?

I know how knowledgeable you guys and gals can be so I thought I'd ask this question here! Any idea if the French "Half Term" clahses with the UK one this Feb?

Considering a trip to Les Gets again and from past experience if the French are still at school the waiting times won't be as long!

Any help would be appreciated.
