Finish work on a Friday afternoon, collect snowboard, head to the pub, get drunk, catch the 1am train, arrive Mayrhofen 7.30am Saturday, check in, buy 2 day pass, board, drink, eat, sleep, board some more, catch 6.35pm train on Sunday, in bed by 2am Monday, work 8.30am Monday.
150 GBP (not including drink and food) I love living in Central Europe and having a railcard paid for by the company  |

best way to wax (the board, not yourself :D) and tip protectors??

My advice would be simply to get the board overhauled in the resort (about 30 EURO for waxing and having the edges done), I tend to do this on the second last night of my holiday, and make sure it gets well dried on the last night. This means it is in tip-top condition next time you go away.
As for repairing gouges, I did this myself and really enjoyed it. Takes a bit of practice to get the burning of the P-Tex right so it adheres, but you really cant go too far wrong as long as you have a very sharp blade to remove any excess I recommend a pack of these for the job..... http://www.stanleytools.com/default.asp?CATEGORY=UTILITY&TYPE=PRODUCT&PARTNUMBER=11-911&SDesc=5%2DPack+1991%26%23174%3B+Regular+Duty+Utility+Blade My first board is suffering a bit from de-lamination on the front and back but is a long way from worrying about. With my newer board I carry a tube of superglue...not for any lasting repair, but it does a fine job of temporary waterproofing. |

Why not stay one night, get 2 days skiing and go straight to work on the Monday?
I say the people who devised this plan are lightweights. |
