Hi Bandit,
Wow didn't know that....will have to check, he's probably been knobbled by the globalwarmalists, he does seem to have kept them on their toes the last couple of years by out predicting their climate change computer models ( I think he has soemthing like a 80% - 85% success rate on medium to long range forecasts ). Thanks for th heads up I will look into it . Jon. |

Hi,
I wouldn't be too worried about the snow conditions ( although this is the main fretting, nail biting, heart thumping worry we all have :D ). What a difference a few weeks makes ...here is a webcam shot of Les Arcs http://www.webcam-ski.com/interfaces/les-arcs-peisey/interface.php?pk_interface=259&m=images&r=panoramique#depart If you haven't booked anything yet just keep an eye on the conditions while you choose where to go, along with some of the others booking toward the end of March and nearing Easter can put prices up, but if you can choose to go after Easter you may find some great deals, also going mid week to mid week self catering can help cut costs sometimes. Hope you have an enjoyable ,safe trip wherever you decide. Jon. |

Hi,
Tignes/Val D'isere Les Arcs ( Yes the lower parts can be affected if too warm , but 1800m up to 3226m will be great, have skied Les Arcs at the end of April in knee deep fresh power on the Aiguille Rouge down to just below Arc 2000 ). Val Thorens Alpe-d'Heuze Argentiere - Chamonix Mainly I would think anywhere with North , North Easterly facing slopes , with skiing from around 1650m up to and over 3000 and if you can throw in a glacier or two for added measure you will be onto a winner. Hi,
Try having a look on the Accuweather.com ( Uk & European ) site, and in particular the European forecast by meteorologist Joe Bastardi ( yes thats his real name )...this guy has predicted the snowy weather way back at about the beginning of last year. The site may not give a resort by resort forecast but there may be a search facility, but it will give you the forecast for the wider area. Along with Piers Corbyn, Joe Bastardi is the chap none of the news people will interview about the AGW debate, as he says " I just present the facts, and as people's lives and livelyhoods depend on the accuracy of my forecasts.....if I couldn't predict the weather accurately I would be out of a job"......which seems pretty fair.
