I have been wondering this as well.
GPS postioning watch with altimeter I guess would be perfect, so you can see height, distance and speeds. I would also like something that does not look like a plastic lunchbox strapped to my arm. I am sure I saw something in Filzmoos last year in stainless steel for about 300 EUR, but didn't have the cash so tried to ignore it, but further searches have revealed very little.... ....too much to ask maybe??? |

Was watching a one legged skier on the Tux a couple of weeks ago, whilst I was busy being kanackered at the restaurant having a Gluhwein.
This guy had what looked like a proffesional photographer with him and thez were setting up shots all the way down the run. He was bloody amazing!!! |

Scott,
Whats the budget? I have found recently what can appear expensive at first turns out cheaper in the long run! I stayed at a 4 star spa hotel at Hintertux two weeks ago, in a single room (very spacious)with half board for 70 EUR a night, about 54 GBP. Now that seems a little expensive until you realize what you get for the money. Massive buffet breakfast 4 course evening meal Sauna, pool, spa etc Excellent room, complimentary water and robes etc Now you can find things much cheaper, but once you add lunch and dinner to the mix, you can quickly rack up an additional 30 EUR per day. I found I needed very little for lunch as I could take stuff from breakfast with me. It also gives you something to do when the weather is bad or lifts are closed. The skiing on the Tux is excellent and as it is a glacier, its guaranteed. The lift pass itself gives access to the Zillertal range including Mayrhofen, the transport links are excellent and getting there can be done easily from Munich airport for about 40 EUR return. If you like the idea, let me now and I can provide some guidance. |
