Hope you had a great time - I love Zell am See, usually get there before Chrimbo, but sadly have to wait till 15th January for my fix this year. Anyone else there that week ?

Helmets

Yeah, all is fine till some out of control idiot wipes you out from behind and just as you hit the white stuff another crashes into your head with thier skis - thank goodness my daughters had bought me a helmet for my 40th to help keep me alive till my 50th!

They must have had a premonition!

So I'm all for wearing them - but also for freedom of choice.

Has skiing become increasingly more dangerous now compared to 10 or 20 years ago?

Perhaps people that wear helmets think they can go more nutso than they normally would, increasing the risk of injuring themselves or others. I seriously think some of this new safety merchandising causes more problems indirectly than they solve directly.

Who would've thought strapping two long planks to your feet and shoving yourself down a mountain could be dangerous! The nerve of nature!

That was how it worked, had used them several times, but thankfully had nothing in the pipeline when it all went down.

Transfer sofia to Borovets

Just make sure they know your going on a ski holiday and will need lugguage space! Possibly space for ski/board kit to - and that you don't all want to sit on each other knees on the trip.

Sorry, bad experience going from Sofia - Bansko a few years ago.

Corvara with Colletts

We have been with Colletts the last 2 years at half term in Haus Valentine and had a fantastic time! They looked after us superbly well.

Not able to do half term this year so for a change are heading to Corvara, to Chalet Verena the week after New Year.

Will try to remember and report in when we get back.

But I have to say I am expecting nothing but a fantastic time after the way Colletts have looked after us the past two years.

Yes they are.

Do you think they will be valid on the day? I have 1 and I have my doubts, it all looks a bit casual to me )

They just scan the barcode as you go in.
