She looked much better on the salomons but no doubt they would be better off piste

the bc bit stands for backcountry so technically there were marketed as an off piste ski i think but yeah, you're right-were pretty parky and by todays off piste standards they would be def park skis edit-sorry ski bum didn't read page two, you beat me to it! |

I owned those skis a few years back but found them to be too soft and floppy-mind you Im heavier than the average bear at about 115kg!

You must be skiing with god because even world cup skiers can not link pure carved turns on a black run
I would consider myself an experienced and competent skier and once doing more than 2 carved turns on a red I'm absolutely flying and need to skid to stop myself dying!!!! |

Yeah I was going to head up on Sunday but didnt due to forecasted rain, kinda glad to hear it was a bit damp.....
Supposed to get cold again towards the end of this but don't think the snow is holding up too well atm! |

Those silencers are a park orientated twin tip-for what you have just described I would recommend either the 4frnt msp-not easy to get hold of second hand. I own a pair of them, skied them all season and I reckon they are as close to 'all mountain' as you can get-hold an edge on piste but fat enough o actually be decent in powder. The silencers are soft and flappy on piste and to narrow for powder-even Scottish powder!
Also worth a look is th k2 Kung fujas and armada el ray although the el ray is a bit narrow under foot it's the best twin tip I've ever skied on piste. I took part in the industry ski test 2years ago because I was doing a season in bormio so tested quite a few!! Where du ski in Scotland? I live in Glasgow and head up pretty regularly |

I haven't rented skis personally in ages but have been with people who have and my understanding of a the premium skis they offer in most hire shops is that it is the current season models-they will also probably be for more advanced skiers but mainly the new stock that looks in the best condition.
I know what you mean tho as my friend hired fischer amc76 skis 2yrs ago when he visited in Italy and loved them-they were stiff onpiste skis. He then tried my slalom skis as they were almost identical specs and i was raving about them but he hated them as he wasn't really heavy enough to work them through the turn properly. Be as honest with yourself and the ski shop when they ask you-don't talk yourself down and return them if you don't like em! |
