It's all in Cervinia!

Thanks for the suggestions, we decided to play it safe and book Cervinia. At least we know it's open and there is snow.
It could dump in other resorts like Andy said but it's only three and a bit days skiing so I'm sure we can find a nice bit to play around on in Cervinia. |

A couple of friends and I have flights to Geneva next Thursday 11th for four days and were due to go to Sestriere but have cancelled that due to lack of snow.
I have been having a look at possible options of a resort that we can drive to from Geneva but even Tignes and Val Thorens are looking very bare and there is very little snow forecast for the next week. It is going to get very cold so I know the snow making will be getting started but I was hoping to get a few opinions as where to go? I have looked at Cervinia which seems to have the best snow today. Essentially we can wait until this time next week to book but already I have noticed that accommodation is getting harder to get in Cervinia as it's obviously not just me who wants some early season skiing. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. |

Hi Ally,
I'm not going to Sestriere now, not sure where I will go actually! Flying to Geneva on the 11th, then wherever has some snow. |

That would be great, I need to make a decision by this time next week so a report from the resort would be much appreciated. |

Best bet so far is Cervinia. Mostly open and more snow forecast this week. About two and a bit hours drive from Geneva.
We land in Geneva on the 11th December and the plan is to go to Sestriere but I won't make a decision until this time next week. |
