Opinions on Run marking systems
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 1 Reply
I thought the French system of naming the runs and then each marker post just showing the distance from the end was definitely not as good as the rest (?) of Europe where the run is numbered all the way down so at least you know you are still on the same run .....

of course opinions might differ.............
les Carroz to Flaine

In my opinion the runs are not that well signed and it can be a bit confusing You have to go up the Grand Vans lift and take a left down the dolomie run to the little corbalanche chair then follow the signposts to Carroz nice run down but there are 2 ways and one was closed due to lack of snow 2 weeks ago so make sure if they are both open but there are signpost directing you to each resort along the way but I would definitely take a map as it can be confusing....

Well my skis arrived back today!!!

someone has had them for two weeks and skied on them ...I take more care of hire skis! there are gouges on the sole and the edges are notched ..so full service and obviously they took a liking to my carbon poles and the slip that went in between,,,There are some real ba****ds about ...I hope they broke a leg.

I reckon the whole incident has cost me £200 It shows that not everyone who skis are the good guys!!

i was there a couple of years ago and quite enjoyed the experience the skiing in Courmayuer is not bad but the pass includes la thuille, pila and even cervinia but this is a bit far for the day...there is a free bus to la thuille...I stopped at tha astoria which was good ...the town is quite large and spread out and does not have much atmosphere but i would definitely go back

hope that helps

I was there in 06 I agree with Ntip ..limited runs would suit early intermediate but if you have a car a good centre to be in The Gastein valley is not far and it isn't too far from Zell am Zee..
stopped at the Gasthof Brau which I can really recommend
