You should find the black runs in St Anton compare well with those in Canada. It's one of the very best resorts in the world for challenging terrain. Zurs, Lech and Stuben are certainly worth visiting too (included on the area pass).

That brings back some memories, great resorts, great area. I must go back some day.

It'll soon be even quicker to get back as they are going to replace the old Platiers 1 & 2 bubble in Meribel valley halving the ascent time. That can be a bit of a bottleneck.

Of all the resorts I've skied, I think Soldeu is probably the most beginner friendly.

I've been back to VT several times. Once was enough to Portes Du Soleil, the queues were horrendous (though Les Gets is a little gem).
VT is a great base for 3Vs, plenty of tree lined slopes in Courchevel easily assessable from VT. |
