Gee I hate being out of the loop. I knew Trencher was taking a bit of a "vacation" .. But Jan too :?:  I'll have to follow along more closely. In my case they both have offered skiing elements which I was practising today. The carving is really taking off and the spins are starting to work. It was a really good skiing day in Nova Scotia. The day started with -14C and warmed to about 0C on a day without a cloud in the ski nor wind in the air. This all followed 25cm of new snow about mid week. I wish you all could have been here - or at least had as good or better conditions wherever you skied today. Mike  |

The 15 to 25 cms "promised" yesterday for NS has been upgraded to 30 cms !!
Even the ski hill is closing at 4pm to permit staff safe travel home. The schools didn't even open today --- the kids get to go to the ski hill rather than to school! Mike  (and a question for ellistine: Did you wish you had your "yacht" in the mayhem following Michel Desjoyeaux on Foncia back into port at Les Sables d'Olonne on Sunday? The Vendee Globe is quite the adventure - the race is on now for sure!) :D |

Amanda,
You asked the question and I guess you have the answer now! This forecast looks like ours in Nova Scotia... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7865320.stm :D We are due for 15 - 25 cms in the next 24 hours  :D Mike  |

This article says "Watch Out !"
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7862378.stm Is it true ? When we see -2C we are quite concerned winter has past and it's time to get out the lawn rakes. Mike  |

Thanks for the info P.S.C. :D This will prepare me for if I see these people again. I just thought there maybe some J2Ski followers who had direct info on the Squad.
Thanks for your reply. Ross ... thanks for checking in so frequently. Guess you are bored again  Mike  |

So ... the first 67 people to view this thread have had no comments on Englands' Freestyle Squad .... will any of the next 67 have any information ---news or history of this fine group of skiers? Thanks,
Mike  |

Do you ever find a level of amazement in the diversity of the population you meet on the chair lifts?
Let me explain a brief encounter of the interesting nature today at Martock. Similarly to the time I met an Australian girl who had skied often at Falls Creek, with whom I have conversed frequently, my wife and I had a very pleasant ride up the lift with a young lady from the London-Heathrow area (she and her family had also lived in Kent) this morning. Later on in the day I happened to ride the lift with this young lady, her father and younger sister. It was interesting to listen to their ski stories. Times like this the all too long ride to the top becomes not long enough! Later on in the lodge I saw this family off in the distance and noticed the reason for the skill the young lady had displayed on the slopes earlier. She was wearing a lovely white sweater or sorts with "England - freestyle team" embroidered on it. I expect I may see this family again as their stay here is to be for a considerable duration. Can anyone shed some light for me on England's Freestyle Team ? They were a joy to speak with and I would like to know something of this team especially if any J2Skiers may have been team members at one time or another. The thing that strikes me is that so many different languages can be heard at even little Martock tucked away in our small province. It was a good skiing day in Nova Scotia :D Mike  |
