I always wanted to go there, heard it is very beautiful.

Hi there LM,

Yes, home is near Halifax,N.S. :D

And yes, we think it's scenic -- the land of the Bluenose and Peggy's Cove not to mention the setting for the 2011 Canada Winter Games. The local hills have been given $$$millions$$$ for upgrades --- snow making gear and groomers etc...

BC is even more scenic! Friends visited Sun Peaks last spring for 13 straight ski days! They were told, as they were made honorary resort guides, that no one has skied so much at one stretch as they did. Now these friends are in Zermatt for a couple of weeks.

Enjoy the birthday party :!:

Going to our local ski hill for the Saturday morning first chair !!!

It's a winter time ritual. What could be more romantic than 10 minutes alone with your wife on a chair lift ... no distractions there!!

Anyone watching as Sam Davies (Roxy) of the UK finished the solo around the world sailing race tonight??

Elestine, being the sailor on this site, were you watching?? Really exciting as she finished in 3rd place after 97 days at sea. I'm sure all who have followed this race will agree that Sam has to have the most positive attitude which most of us will never experience. Tomorrow morning she enters the harbour channel at Les Sables d'Olonne to reach the media center.

I will miss this as we will be skiing, I expect.

LM,

Did you see the Rick Mercer Report last week where Rick was guided around Sun Peaks by Nancy? She should have taken him down Cover Shot! Rick would have tried it - one way or the other.

Funny thing...

We were talking to a guy on the lift about his son's racing. Appearantly the lycra speed suits have become a "badge of honour" of sorts. We decided that badge or not, it wouldn't do any good for the mature ski team to wear such attire. Talk about beer bellies on wannabe racers on display. The discussion gave us a good laugh as I think we were picturing ourselves
I shudder ... not just from the thought of the cold experienced when wearing such a suit.

Ross,

Is that a self portrait of you on the first page of this thread? Are you the Red Caper? And do you have this image printed on your business cards?

You can tell that you are a fearless skier ... having posted this (possible) self image
