Just keep a track of time, it's not a quick route via the blues. You'll find it a challenge to ski there and back in a day as there's no direct route.
If you're up for trying a red, the Lac de la Chambre red run will save you about an hour. It's a fantastic run, big wide and usually in very good condition. There are a couple of slightly steeper bits but most of it is comparable with the blues in the area. I've taken confident beginners on it without a problem. Avoid the Ours blue above Mottaret, it's a path with a lot of poleing, take the Plan de Mains lift and ski any of the blues down beside the Plattieres lifts. If you follow Daved's route, you don't need to go all the way to the bottom of St Martin, join the Saint Martin 2 lift. |

Depends what sort of ski you're looking for. What skiing do you do?

I was quite surprised, 3Vs used to be one of the most expensive areas. They've been forced to compete for custom with dropping visitor numbers across the Alps. Prices now compare well with other resorts. Still expensive, but not excessively so.
