Hi,
Great choice of resort in picking Sauze – myself and OH learnt to ski there a couple of years ago and loved it.
As a first ski (or snowboard) holiday, you may find it cheaper to book a learn to ski package through the tour op (we used Thompsons too) as these tend to include lift pass, lessons and ski/snowboard hire and usually work out much cheaper than booking everything separately. I can also thoroughly recommend the ski school that Thompsons/Crystal use, especially Sergio who is fantastic.
If you have any other questions about Sauze, I'll do my best to help.
Have fun :D

However, I bet there are a lot of "other halves" out there who when their partner suggests a week away with a group of people from a website might start to panic, have 2nd thoughts, or call the police

Pretty much exactly the response I expect

However, the chalet we have booked in Arabba in January will involve sharing with a group of people we've never met, so not that much difference really. If this year's experience is a good one (we've never done a chalet holiday before) then I think I have a very good chance of getting a 'yes'. If it's a disaster I may have more of a problem and have to convince OH to book a hotel in Zermatt that week instead :D

It's not like J2skiers are all axe wielding madmen, or anything (I hope.........)
How about Chalet Manuela (£499 sleeps 6-8) or if there were enough people that didn't mind spending a bit more, Chalet Angelina (£739 sleeps 8 and has a private sauna.) Both on the same website as Chalet Kamanga above, have private facilities, and include flights and transfers.
Did somebody not say that this one hadn't had the best of reviews?
I thought that too :D

I guess it depends on whether everyone that has expressed an interest actually decides to go, and if so, maybe we could book the chalet for 12 and another one for 8 - there seems to be a lot more choice of chalets for 6-8 people than for larger groups.

I really hope that this trip comes off – looking forward to it already :D

I'd stick with your plan to find an attractive, millionaire's daughter if I were you, buy a chalet and we then can all come and stay )
tino_11 wrote:So it seems like Skidaddle and I have a plan then. Gonna put my feet up for the next 9 months whilst the rest of you get a chalet and flights from various airports nailed down

A few other questions spring to mind....

Do we have a count of interested parties yet?
Am I the only snowboarder?
How many attractive single ladies are going?
Can we get a group deal on lift passes?
Can those who need get a group deal on hire?
Will there by enough snow?
And has anyone seen my G&T?

Yes:

Chalet:

Me and Mark
Nelly and Mr Nelly
Tony H and Mrs H
Stewart and OH
Ellistine and Mrs Ellistine
Mfc and OH
Snowb4ndit and Scalpula
Dalerobers, OH + son
Rustyinn and OH (possibly + 2 more)
Eljay

Possibles:
Caron a and OH

Freezywater (if we and up in Austria)

Making their own way there

Have I missed anyone? :D

Snowboarders - don't know

Attractive single ladies - probably none as everyone seems to be in couples

And can't help on the others as have never been on a group trip, haven't seen the weather forecast for 2011 and try the coffee table? Enjoy when you find it )
